List of attractions

Tropea, Province of Vibo Valentia, Italy
Tropea
Tropea, a well-known seaside resort, rises on the high sandstone promontory and boasts the definition of being the Pearl of the Tyrrhenian Sea, from which it is bathed. For its great beauty, it has been awarded the title of the most beautiful village in Italy 2021 as well as having awarded the Blue Flag for its clean waters. Its morphology is in fact divided into two parts: the upper part, where the daily life of the town takes place, a lower part called "Marina", which is located close to the sea and the port. The beaches are real stretches of white sand, bathed by turquoise waters, surrounded by lush vegetation, where you have the feeling of being in idyllic and surreal places, dominated by light and brilliant shades. Among the most beautiful beaches there are: Spiaggia della rotonda, Spiaggia Marina dell'Isola, Spiaggia del Convento, Spiaggia Passo del Cavaliere.
- Of particular interest is the historic center of the city, with many noble palaces of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, perched on the cliff overlooking the beach below. Symbol of the historic center is the Cathedral of Maria S.S. of Romania in Romanesque style, containing the sacred effigy of the Madonna of Romania, protector of the city and the Church of Jesus.
- The symbol of Tropea is Santuario Santa Maria dell'Isola or Isola Bella, that stands on a promontory in front of the town. Around the church there is a splendid garden full of Mediterranean plants with a wonderful view of the sea that offers a very suggestive overview of the entire Coast of the Gods.
Unique and unforgettable is the view that dominates Piazza Cannone and the Affaccio Raf Vallone, especially in the hours of sunset, where the majestic cliff is reflected on the crystalline sea; the island is the protagonist that hides the sunset until it reaches the horizon where it is possible to see the Aeolian Islands.
To admire the evocative beauties of the Costa degli Dei, it is possible to take guided excursions or rent a boat to discover the wonderful beaches that can be reached only and exclusively by sea.
